Clarinet quartet (3 Bb clarinets + bass clarinet).
8.5 x 11 (or A4) Score and parts. 8 movements. 25 minutes total. Score: 42 pages. Parts 18-19 pages.
Each movement can stand alone, so this work can be thought of as a collection of eight quartets (though all movements are based on the same underlying material so that there is compositional unity throughout when all movements are performed together).
Digital download of a .zip file containing PDFs of the score and the parts. It also includes a tip sheet on various ways to assemble multi-page parts.
A download page will appear after you complete your order, and the download link will also be emailed to you.
The score and parts are formatted for 8.5 x 11. Double-sided printing (duplex) will be best, followed by 3-hole punching and placing parts in 3-ring binder for each player.
Standard 20-pound copy paper is too flimsy for instrumental parts. Use 28-pound (available from Amazon, paper stores, and some business supply stores).
If a part has a title page, it is there so that the page turns will work, so it needs to be printed. This is true for any assembly method. A title page is not a waste of paper; it avoids bad or impossible page turns. We are very careful with our engraving and pay close to the layout to facilitate easy page turn whenever possible.
The parts may printed 2-up duplex on 11 x 17 (best option). These copies then fold into 8.5 x 11 booklets. A very handy and easy-to-use utility for arranging the page order for 2-up booklets is “PDF Binder,” available for a donation from NYC Music Services. Just search for ‘PDF Binder NYC Music Services.” (See tip sheet in .zip file)
The purchaser is licensed to print parts as needed, BUT ONLY FOR THE PURCHASING ENSEMBLE. Sharing the PDF with an outside party is not allowed.
BY DOWNLOADING THE FILES, THE PURCHASER AGREES TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS.
